Send sensitive records without leaving copies

A record sent as an email attachment stays in two mailboxes and every backup of them. A link that is deleted after reading doesn't.

The problem

Email attachments are copied to the sender’s and the recipient’s mailboxes, their backups and often their archives. The copy you meant to share once can turn up years later.

How shhnote.com helps

  • Encrypted in your browser. The file is encrypted before upload; this site stores only ciphertext it cannot open.
  • Deleted after reading or at expiry. Choose a one-time view, or a lifetime of up to 14 days.
  • A second lock. Add a passphrase and share it separately, by phone for example.
  • Little to disclose. We keep no record of who created or opened a secret; the privacy policy lists exactly what is stored.

What it is not

shhnote.com is a way to hand something over, not a records system. It keeps no copy, no audit trail and no proof of delivery, so keep your own record of what you sent and when, as your obligations require. Whether it fits a particular regulation is a question for your own compliance advice.
